Western Australian Spotted Gum (Corymbia maculata) is native to south-eastern Australia (eastern New South Wales and eastern Victoria) but has naturalised in south-western Western Australia where this stock has come from. Whilst this is a standard timber in our range, it is not to be underestimated in any way; this is a work-horse ready to do any job, ready to impress. At approximately 970kg/m3 density it is considered a very hard timber.
Purchase this drum for mid to high range tunings wide open. It is a throaty, clear and phat cracker. Tuned low, this snare will also produce a thumpy punch with dampening assistance. As the drum is tuned up, its great body comes to life, underscored by a tasty musical ping.
